🛡️ Safe Neighborhoods

Every family deserves to feel safe at home, at school, and in their neighborhood.
Jimmy supports Garland’s dedicated police officers, firefighters, and first responders — and believes public safety starts with strong relationships between the community and those who protect it.

He will:

• Support continued investment in police and fire training, equipment, and facilities.

• Encourage neighborhood watch and community policing programs that build trust.

• Promote youth engagement and mentoring programs that prevent crime before it starts.

💼 Strong Local Economy

Garland’s small businesses are the backbone of our community. Jimmy understands that when local businesses succeed, the whole city benefits through new jobs, local tax revenue, and stronger neighborhoods.

He will:

• Support the 2025 Grow Garland Bond Program to help revitalize key commercial corridors and attract new employers.

• Work with the Garland Chamber of Commerce and local business groups to make doing business easier through clear communication and reasonable permitting.

• Encourage small-business development in areas with good foot traffic, convenient transportation access, and established commercial activity. This includes hubs near major shopping areas and transit corridors, while staying flexible if regional transportation plans change in the future

🏗️ Better Infrastructure

Strong communities depend on reliable infrastructure — safe streets, sidewalks, drainage, and utilities. Jimmy will make sure Garland continues improving the basics that residents see and use every day.

He will:

• Support responsible implementation of projects funded through the 2025 Grow Garland Bond Program, ensuring that investments in roads, alleys, and public facilities are delivered on time and within budget.

• Advocate for better street lighting, safer crosswalks, and sidewalk connectivity in aging neighborhoods.

• Work with city staff to ensure infrastructure maintenance is proactive, not reactive.

🌎 Inclusive Outreach & Communication

Garland’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths. Many families across the city speak languages other than English, and communication should be clear, welcoming, and respectful to everyone.
 

Jimmy will:

• Promote bilingual (English, Spanish, Vietnamese) communication for city updates and public safety information.

• Host neighborhood listening sessions to hear residents’ concerns directly.

• Encourage community participation across all cultures, faith traditions, age groups, neighborhoods.

❤️ Health & Seniors

Access to healthcare and senior support services is vital to a healthy community. Jimmy knows that Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) now manages the Garland Public Health Clinic — and he wants to make sure local residents continue receiving the care they need.

He will:​

• Work with DCHHS, nonprofits, and local faith organizations to strengthen outreach and health education.

• Advocate for improved access to senior transportation, nutrition, and wellness programs.

• Encourage city partnerships that connect residents with county and regional health resources.

Trust in local government starts with openness and integrity.
Jimmy believes residents deserve clear communication and responsible decision-making from their elected leaders.

He will:

• Keep residents informed about city decisions and how tax dollars are used.

• Promote responsible budgeting and fiscal accountability.

• Be accessible and responsive — returning calls, emails, and listening to concerns.

He will:

• Build partnerships between neighborhoods, schools, civic groups, and local businesses.

• Support community events that celebrate Garland’s cultures and traditions.

• Focus on common-sense solutions that bring people together instead of dividing them.
