ELECT JIMMY TRAN FOR GARLAND CITY COUNCIL, DISTRICT 1
Local Roots. Real Results. Stronger Garland.
Jimmy Tran has proudly called Garland home for more than 22 years. As a husband, father of three Garland ISD students, and longtime community leader, he has spent over a decade working to make Garland a safer, stronger, and more connected city for every family.
Now, Jimmy is running for Garland City Council – District 1 (May 2026 Election) to ensure every neighborhood and every voice is represented at City Hall.
WHY JIMMY IS RUNNING?
LOCAL ROOTS
Jimmy’s story began as a refugee from Vietnam who came to Texas in 1994 seeking freedom and opportunity. Garland became his family’s home in 2002 — the city where he raised his children and built his life. For Jimmy, public service is about giving back to the community that once gave his family a new start.
REAL RESULTS
As a Senior Software Engineer at JCPenney and founder of VN United — a nonprofit that unites families through sports, culture, and volunteerism — Jimmy has shown his ability to lead, organize, and get things done. His work has supported youth programs, local charities, and partnerships with city departments and schools across Garland.
A DOER, NOT A TALKER
Jimmy often says he’s not the loudest speaker in the room — but he’s always the one rolling up his sleeves to get the job done. He believes results matter more than words. His focus is on action, teamwork, and finding real solutions that improve everyday life for Garland families.
STRONGER GARLAND
Jimmy believes leadership means listening, collaborating, and focusing on practical results. On the City Council, he will work hard for all residents of Garland, not just District 1 — strengthening neighborhood safety, improving infrastructure, supporting small businesses, and building trust through honest, transparent service.
